Fun game with plenty of levels. I would recommend this to anyone who go Call of Duty 4 on there mac. The only downside to the game is the lack of sprint and you cannot use console at any time while playing singleplayer. An update with sprinting and an easier-to-use console would be great. Keep putting more Call of Dutys on the App Store!
Not bad at all... its a excellent game but its a little pricey
Awesome game!! I would like to see the multiplayer maps a bit more detailed, and a sprint feature. But other than that runs great on my macbook air 11!!! Keep up the good work
game freezes
there are many great games out there witch have the ability to make pepole have fun and this is one of them. with the amazing sounds and motions and the good fps. but what they should work on is more levels like juno beach and forest theme levels. but it is an amazing game and the money is worth it. so come on to the app store and buy it.
Great game works on my macbook air (2012) however upon starting this game the second time there is a loading watch right in the middle of the crosshairs and will not go away upon restarting game or changing graphics settings. Really annoying, until I can get it fixed I will give this game a 3/5
Call of Duty 2 is the best WW II FPS you can get on the Mac. The gameplay is still great and pretty much all Macs today will run it. Also if youre a parent worried about the description, the ESRB didnt rate this game a M. Its rated teen. Very fun and worth the download.
Even after nearly 9 years, this game is still one of the most engaging and exciting first-person shooters available. The single player campaign is filled with tons of memorable moments (particularly the Soviet campaign), and the multiplayers diverse maps provide hours upon hours of entertainment. Looks beautiful on a 13-inch Macbook Pro and runs like a charm.
Great game, runs quite well on high settings on my macbook pro. The only gripes I have with this game is that its pretty pricey for a game that came out 10 years ago, there is a bit of screen tearing here and there and I can’t seem to catch a online multiplayer match :( Nonetheless, If you want a fun little shooter on your macbook thats easy on the memory and ram and such, then Call Of Duty 2 should fit the bill nicely.
One of my favorites from childhood, this game is still great today, but with a few issues. Bugs are pretty much nonexistent and the campaigns are great, but the graphics are dated. A moot point, I know, considering how old the game is, but I feel like the gameplay doesn’t hold up the graphics anymore. You’ll no doubt enjoy the experience, but at the price, it’s not worth it.
From what I have found out…If you join a server and then want to change servers, you need to close out the game and then start it back up. Also, you must disable your firewall or at least set the firewall to allow incoming connections from this app. These solutions have helped me and I can now play multiplayer mode. Not as good as COD4 multiplayer, however.
I love the call of duty series. Whats missing is Call of Duty 3. Can you please make one for the mac?
There really arent that many good WWII shooters right now, especially if you dont have an Xbox or PS3 or something. But this is awesome! Im sick with a fever today, but this has made my day much better! Thanks! Its: -realistic (realistic guns, grenades, clothing, effects, etc...) -fun (great gameplay) -historically accurate (good storyline) -good looking (with great graphics) -challenging (AI arent dingbats) -flawless (containes no glitches or bugs) This game definetly makes me want to buy Call of Duty 4! (And I will, for Christmas)
I have 2011 basic macbook pro model. I purchased COD4 MW for Mac and I had some serious lag. However I heard this game would run better but now I cant even get in to play. I get the square loading box but when it changes to the real screen its just bluish black and it doesnt work. It takes about 4 minuets to even get to that screen. Anyone know why? Is my computer that bad that it cant even play this game?
The game itself is great, but the multiplayer just doesnt work at all for me. Im unable to join a game, Ive tried almost everything to fix this but nothing helps!
The game is great; arguably the best CoD game ever made. This port runs smooth, and the graphics still look pretty nice even after all theses years. Suprising lighting effects, detailed textures, and great level design make for a great looking game. Some of the terrain looks rigid and low polygon, but this is easily overlooked. The sound in CoD 2 is even better than the graphics, and better than all of the following CoD games in my opinion. Teammates will shout out enemy locations and mortars will whistle as they hit the ground. The sound is very immersive and moodsetting, and makes you feel like youre in an intense battle. Occassionally, musical scores will kick in. CoD 2 has a much longer campaign than any other CoD before or after it. The campaign will provide many hours of fun the first time, and will still be fun several more times as the levels arent so linear that they play out in exactly the same way. The enemies in the game actually have pretty great AI. It is VERY aggressive, and forces you to be on the move. As you progress, you play through the viewpoint of an American soldier on the western front, a Russian on the Eastern front, and a British soldier fighting against the Afrika Korps. All of these perspectives are very well done, and offer lots of variety between missions. The one thing all buyers should be aware of, is that the multiplayer community for this game is dwindling. Unfortunately, not many people play any more, and any servers you do find are highly modded and require you to download additional content. These few servers are fun in their own right, but they arent exactly the vanilla multiplayer expirience. Hopefully this introduction to the App Store will increase the player count. All this being said, I give the game a 5/5. Its nearly perfect, but sadly the community is starting to phase out.
Buying games via the app store is unreliable - youll have problems starting it later. Bought it, shows installed on the app store; but it worked twice and now wont launch because it requires me to log in with my apple ID and when I do it just quits without starting the game. Unless youre willing to troubleshoot with apples licensing after you buy it - buy it from the game manufacturer!
